Meek's Review: Hook and Reel receives a solid rating of 🥨🥨🥨🥨 from me. I found the food to be quite tasty, despite the unexpected location within a shopping mall. If you're in the mood for a quick and delicious seafood bite, this is the place to go.
For my appetizer, I savored the deliciously crispy "Fried Calamari," which had a perfect tenderness in every bite. As my main course, I indulged in 1 lb. of the mouthwatering "New Zealand Mussels," served with corn, potatoes, and their signature "Hook and Reel Hot Butter Sauce" (if I recall the name correctly). The portion size was generous, and I even had leftovers to take home. I would definitely return for another enjoyable dining experience.
Kiki's Review: Personally, I'm not a fan of the seafood bag presentation, but I understand that it may appeal to others. Unfortunately, the lemon pepper wings I ordered had an excessive amount of feathers, which was off-putting. The crab bits were a bit mushy and could have used some additional cooking time. However, overall, the food had excellent flavor and didn't disappoint in that aspect.
The two highlights for me were the crab and the fried calamari that Meek ordered. Would I give Hook and Reel another chance? Yes, I would definitely consider returning for another dining experience.
🥨🥨🥨🥨 Tasty seafood at its best. It's decent.
Steffi's Non-Review:
(Note: This portion is not a review but provides background information about the restaurant).
As you can see from the mini title, this is a non-review as I couldn't join Kiki and Meek for lunch or dinner. We are busy people too! However, I conducted some research about Hook and Reel, which you may find interesting. Their website shares a captivating backstory and information about their various Pennsylvania locations, predominantly in the Philadelphia area. This seafood chain also has multiple branches across the United States. If you're interested in exploring their seafood cuisine, Hook and Reel offer a casual atmosphere where you can dress comfortably in jeans and a t-shirt while enjoying a meal with friends, family, or coworkers.
